Return on Investment (ROI)

It would seem that Return on Investment (or ROI) is the holy grail for any L&D specialist, and therefore every training provider, with everyone striving to evidence the Measurable Business Improvement directly related to the implementation of a training intervention.

At Training for Advancement, we work closely with our clients to achieve this. Essentially, the secret to success is to identify and agree at the outset of a project what needs to be different as a result of the training, and how we will know this has happened. From these discussions, we can formulate a clear and simple ROI strategy to engage all stakeholders and to generate a real interest in results.

Foresight rather than hindsight is our mantra!

Complications and frustrations with ROI arise when desired improvements are highlighted too late in the process, and therefore nothing is in place to capture the shift in performance; or more worryingly, the learning objectives are no longer appropriate, and the training has not been developed to address the real issues in the business.

Our skill is truly getting to grips with the requirements of the training, what participants will do differently, and how this will be evidenced at critical points in the journey.
