FAQs
Can you look after all of our training needs?
Yes we can. We recognise that businesses have different levels of need, and so we provide a range of options to suit; from delivery of an ad hoc project, to undertaking all learning and development activity on your behalf.
I’ve read about someone else’s training solution - can I have the same?
Rather than prescribe the same off-the-shelf answers for everyone, we offer customised solutions to match your individual needs and adapt proactively to your organisation; solutions that fit seamlessly together to make a real and sustained difference. So although the solution we create may contain similar elements to solutions we’ve developed for other clients, it won’t be exactly the same.
Who do you work with?
Training For Advancement has a breadth of experience and expertise across a wide range of market sectors, specifically attracting clients from the following areas: Retail, Business-to-Business, Supply Chain and Logistics, Automotive and Housebuilding.
Why do your programmes work?
Our learning programmes are effective because we are committed to embedding and sustaining the behavioural change that delivers improved business success. Our simple approach ensures that people are aware of what’s expected of them, inspired to want to make a difference, able to step up to the challenge, and encouraged to apply their learning in the workplace.
What if I have a fixed or very limited training budget?
Due to the bespoke nature of our solutions, we research exactly what your requirements are before recommending appropriate activities that will deliver measurable changes in your business performance. Experience shows that this approach is more cost-effective than providing off-the-shelf solutions that will not meet your needs exactly, and result in you needing to buy additional solutions. In addition, due to our bespoke approach, we can design/deliver a solution that reflects your available budget.
How much notice is needed to schedule in training?
This is variable. Our advice would be to talk to us at the earliest opportunity so that we can ensure the appropriate length of time is dedicated to your solution.
Are training sessions restricted to weekdays and usual business hours?
No. Dates and times of training sessions are flexible in order to accommodate your needs. Please note that weekend/evening sessions may incur an additional cost.
How much will it cost?
The cost varies according to the solution. Fully-costed proposals are provided for each project so that you know exactly what you can expect in return for your investment.
Can you deliver training at our premises?
Assuming there are appropriate facilities to host the training session(s), we can deliver on-site or at a location of your choice. Alternatively, our Client Administration Team can source a suitable venue on your behalf.
If I ask for more details, can I specify how you contact me?
Yes, of course - just let us know your preferred approach when you request additional information.
How can I find out more?
As you’d expect, you can contact us for further information via all the usual routes. Details can be found on our ’Ask us’ page.
Do your solutions follow the latest trends?
We create our solutions based on proven theory and experience. If this approach results in the use of so-called ’trends’ then so be it... but we would rather be known for developing effective solutions that deliver measurable improvements in performance, than because we are trendy!
How many delegates on a course?
Each project is considered on an individual basis, but as an example, we recommend that workshops are run with a maximum of 15 delegates per trainer in order for each delegate to get maximum benefit from the session.
Our pre-requisite for delegate numbers is that the ratio between delegate and trainer will always ensure effective learning. For example, it would be inappropriate to run a teambuilding workshop with only two delegates. Conversely, we would not provide one trainer to deliver a systems’ training session to 30 learners.
How do you assess the suitability and competence of trainers?
The provision of trainers is considered on an individual project basis. Through our project scoping activity, we identify design and delivery requirements and map them against our internal skills’ matrix to ensure that the most appropriate trainers, in terms of suitability and competence are provided.
Are there any opportunities for Associates?
Training For Advancement’s success is due to the calibre of our team. All of our trainers are fully conversant with design and delivery ’best practice’ for adult learning, and have a wide range of experience. If this sounds like you, we’d be pleased to consider you as an associate consultant.
So how can I become an Associate?
Visit the ’Join the team’ section of our website, complete the brief questionnaire/upload your CV, and we’ll take it from there.
What can you offer to our in-house trainers?
We appreciate that each organisation has different needs, and in line with our flexible approach policy, we offer a range of options depending on the level of support you require. For example, we can provide project -by-project support to supplement your in-house team, or work in partnership with them to develop and implement solutions.
Is it better to train on or off-site?
In order for training to be as effective as possible, it’s often a good idea to take delegates away from the workplace and its related distractions. Our flexible solutions allow you to choose the most appropriate option for your business.
