Training for Advancement was contracted to develop a range of training materials for the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND), a key Home Office department, as part of a stated goal to introduce a new end-to-end case management process for asylum claims - a credible and sustainable system, which carries external confidence.

The training programme was to support newly appointed Case Owners who were recruited to be responsible for implementing the New Asylum Model for the UK.

The intensive 10-week training programme developed adopted a blended approach to learning - incorporating face-to-face and self-study activity - and included an assessment school for final sign-off of competence (knowledge, skills and behaviours). This ensured that the training was linked directly to the role, and provided Team Leaders with confidence in the Case Owners' ability to do the job.
