Developing manager competence and confidence at Carlsberg
Recognising that highly-skilled, well-rounded commercial managers – people who are ‘true’ business managers – were required to achieve Carlsberg’s goal, a ‘Management Development Programme’ was sought to create ‘the business managers of tomorrow’.
Following collaboration with Carlsberg’s training and development team to identify a practical, business focussed solution, Training for Advancement designed and delivered a bespoke programme relating specifically to the Carlsberg business. The programme was structured to incorporate the before, during, and after, elements of the development process, including:
- completion of self-analysis questionnaires, e.g. Myers Briggs, 360º
- participation in a 2½ day Development Centre
- receipt of feedback on the Development Centre performance, relating to Carlsberg management competencies
- creation of individually tailored development action plans, focusing on development priorities (based on feedback)
- embarking on a Development Journey designed to achieve agreed development priorities.
